My first original articulated design: a kawaii dolphin, 3D printed with love on a Bambu Lab H2C.

This dolphin carries a small piece of stream history. Early in my streaming journey, I noticed people sending the dolphin gift often and I'd celebrate by wiggling a 3D printed dolphin on stream. I never quite loved the design I was using, so I decided to create my own.

That decision became my first articulated model, the first time I engineered fins and curves to move rather than simply exist. That leap mattered to me as a maker and this little dolphin is where it began.

The stream tradition has since faded, but I couldn't let him fade with it.  This little guy has become a quiet keepsake of where it all started.

Each dolphin is 3D printed on a Bambu Lab H2C and available in blue, pink, or my favorite, the blue and pink matching cutie pies set. Size is about 4.5 in long.

This piece is 3D printed in PLA, a commercially biodegradable plant-based plastic that's sturdy at room temperature but begins to soften starting around 140–160°F (60–70°C). To keep your piece looking its best:

Keep out of direct sunlight for extended periods, especially near windows
Never leave it in a hot car, even briefly in summer
Keep away from radiators, heating vents, candles, and other heat sources
Do not put in the dishwasher, oven, or microwave
If it needs cleaning, wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth

With reasonable care, PLA prints hold their shape and detail for years — heat is really the only thing to watch for.
